1. Is my school or church event delayed or canceled today?

It is crucial that our telephone lines be open for officials calling with weather-related information. Please do not call WBCL to ask whether your school or church has been cancelled.  Weather-related delays and cancellations are aired three times per hour – at approximately 5 minutes past, 25 minutes after the hour, and 45 minutes till the top of the hour.

The links above, and links on our home page link to pages with current closing information for schools and churches.

2. How can I get a cassette or CD copy of a Mid-Morning program?

Simply send us your request, indicating the date and topic of the Mid-Morning program and whether you would like a cassette or CD, along with a check for $5 to cover the cost of the cassette or CD and postage. Click here for a printable order form.

*Due to copyright laws, some programs may not be available.

3. Are the 90.3, 89.5 and 88.1 faith promises combined?

(a) One Sharathon goal is established combining the needs for 90.3, 89.5 and 88.1.

(b) Faith promises for each station are separately tallied during Sharathon to be certain that each region is meeting its own portion of the goal.

4. What happens after I make a Sharathon faith promise?

Two to three weeks after Sharathon you will receive a confirmation of your faith promise and a return envelope so that you can begin making payments on your pledge. At the request of many listeners, we also send gift payment updates in October.

5. When do I pay my faith promise?

Faith promises can be paid anytime throughout the calendar year, either on a monthly basis or as a one-time gift. You can now pay your pledge via three methods:

  • Check payable to WBCL Radio
  • Credit card
  • Electronic funds transfer from your checking or savings account

6. What is the Coffee Can Club?

Come on – Join the Coffee Can Club!!!

During Sharathon 17 years ago, the Coffee Can Club was born when a listener called to say he was tossing quarters into a coffee can each day to support WBCL Radio.

Every ministry needs that core of donors who keeps the cash flow steady so the monthly bills can be paid.  At WBCL, this group is called our Coffee Can Club.

This is a terrific level at which to begin supporting WBCL’s ministry. For a contribution of just $20.83 a month -- a total of $250 per year – you can become a member of the Coffee Can Club just as 3,000 families did last year.

Will you join the Coffee Can Club, knowing that you are helping us pay the routine bills – like the whopping $58,000 electric bill and how about $14,000 worth of postage stamps or a $25,000 phone bill.

Part of our strong witness in the community over these past 29 years is the payment of all of our bills – always on time.  And you make that possible.

Won’t you join the Coffee Can Club today with your faith promise of $250 or just $20.83 cents a month? You’ll find it a wise investment with huge spiritual returns!

7. How can I be a Day Sponsor?

Each day of broadcasting is underwritten, in part, by day sponsors who may underwrite either a full day with 24 mentions ($1200), two shares of a day with 16 mentions ($900) or one share of a day with 8 mentions for ($450).  Day sponsorships may be paid on a monthly basis or as a one-time gift.

Current Day Sponsors receive a mailing in the fall giving them first priority for the next year.

8. What if I am not able to be a Coffee Can Clubber or a Day Sponsor?

Every gift is important. It takes many gifts in addition to the Coffee Can Clubbers and Day Sponsors to support WBCL's 24-hour-a-day ministry to thousands! As we have always said, "A little from a lot puts us over the top!"

If you've ever asked any of the following questions, then you want to hear how our staff panel answered them. Char Binkley, Scott Tsuleff, Steve Gardner, Daryl Yost, and Lynne Ford teamed up to share how WBCL fulfills its mission and goals.

  • Why is WBCL's music more contemporary than it was five years ago?
  • Why doesn't WBCL play a mix of the good old hymn of the past, Southern Gospel, and contemporary music?
  • What age group does WBCL target with its programming?
  • Why is there less preaching on WBCL than there was two years ago?
  • Why doesn't WBCL carry a Christian news service?
